1. National Museum Cardiff

2. Albany Gallery

Cardiff’s Foremost Artist-Run Space
G39 is right up there as one of Cardiff’s most distinctive and important cultural institutions – a true artist-led contemporary art space that has been bravely pushing the boundaries and bringing innovative, often challenging, and always thought-provoking work to Cardiff audiences since the late 1990s. 4. Chapter Arts Centre

Cardiff’s a great city to get around on foot – and most of the top art venues are clustered in or around the civic centre, Roath & Canton, and the Cathays area. If you’re planning a day out, you could easily pop in to the National Museum & Martin Tinney Gallery in the morning, then head to the Albany Gallery in the early afternoon – and finish off with a visit to Saltmarshe Cathays for some framing or browsing.
